LLP “KAZAKH RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF PROCESSING AND FOOD INDUSTRY”
The Institute is the leading scientific institution in Kazakhstan, which solves the problems of processing and food industries in the agro-industrial complex.
Kazakh Research Institute of Processing and Food Industry includes the Head Institute located in Almaty, Astana and Semey branches.
The head institute and its branches include research and design laboratories, experimental production facilities.
DIRECTIONS OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH:
- Evaluation of the effectiveness of the use of new technologies and equipment in the processing and food industry, performance of work on the improvement and development of new equipment and technologies for the production of food from animal and vegetable raw materials, including for bakery, confectionery, fruit and vegetable, meat and dairy, fermentation, beer and soft drinks, winemaking, feed and other industries
- Formation of optimal technological modes and designs of equipment for deep and complex processing of plant and animal raw materials in order to obtain new functional food products, including national products, as well as food and biologically active additives to ensure the quality and safety of raw materials and food products
- Formation, preservation and development of the gene pool of microorganisms for the food industry
- Justification, jointly with the institutes of the National Agricultural Research and Education Center (NASEC), of the initial requirements and the development of technologies for the deep processing of plant and animal raw materials and the production of new food products and animal feed
- Regulatory and methodological support of the agro-industrial complex
- Transfer and adaptation of modern methods and technologies of food production
The institute has vast experience in conducting scientific research and a high qualification level of employees, the institute has 138 employees: scientific employees – 91; Doctors of Science – 10, including.

Infrastructure. To carry out research work, the Lead Institute has 5 research laboratories with an appropriate material and technical base:
Laboratory for processing and storage of crop products
Laboratory for processing and storage of animal products
Bakery technology laboratory
Laboratory for Biotechnology, Quality and Food Safety
Laboratory of technology of grain products and compound feed
There are: a bakery shop, research and experimental laboratory lines – a line for the production of sausages, a line for milk processing, a line for the production of animal feed and feed additives.
By the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 830 of July 30, 2002 “On the republican collection of microorganisms” on the basis of the institute there is an official Depository of the collection of microorganisms for the food and processing industry (AIC). There are more than 2000 storage units of microorganism cultures in the collection for storage and study. As an official depository, the collection accepts cultures of microorganisms from scientific and industrial organizations. Collection cultures are used to create new preparations and ferments in scientific research of the Institute (preparations for livestock, poultry and fish farming, ferments for wheat and rye bread, etc.).
