From June 2 to June 5, 2025, Ivan Dmitrievich Filatov, PhD student, researcher, completed a scientific internship on the topic “Genetic Identification of Microorganisms Based on the Analysis of the 16S rRNA Gene Nucleotide Sequence” at the National Shared Laboratory of Biotechnology, National Center for Biotechnology in Astana.
The internship was conducted within the framework of the PCF Program BR22886613 “Development of Innovative Technologies for the Processing and Storage of Agricultural Crop Products and Raw Materials,” as part of the project “Development of Biopreparations for Various Types of Bread Based on Domestic Highly Active Microbial Cultures to Ensure the Production of High-Quality and Safe Bakery Products.”
During the internship, molecular genetic studies were carried out to identify promising microbial strains for use in baking. In accordance with the project schedule, the species affiliation of six highly active lactic acid bacteria strains and two yeast strains, previously selected from the microbial collection of LLP “KazRIPFI” through preliminary screening, was confirmed.
The research conducted holds high scientific value and enables modern-level confirmation of the taxonomic status of microbial producer strains. The results of the internship will serve as a basis for future scientific publications and the development of effective biopreparations aimed at improving the quality and safety of bakery products.
